Lauren Strunk, Ed.D, LPC

Lauren came to Dickinson from the Florida State University System, where she served most recently as the Director for Prevention and Wellness at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). Before this, she was the Student Affairs Case Manager at FGCU, Assistant Director of Freshman Advising, and Career Counselor at Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus. Originally from Long Island, New York, Lauren holds a Doctor of Education degree focused on Educational Leadership and is a Licensed Professional Counselor who received her Master’s Degree in Counseling at the New York Institute of Technology. Lauren values student health and wellness, focusing on all 8 dimensions of wellness and addressing student concerns from a holistic lens.

Jennifer is a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner who has been at Dickinson since 1999. Although Jennifer sees a wide range of student health concerns, she is especially interested in the areas of self-care (e.g., getting enough sleep) and the treatment and prevention of eating disorders. In addition, Jennifer serves as the advisor to the Dickinson Equestrian Team.

Ms. Graham manages the daily operations in the Wellness Center in order to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency, who has been at Dickinson since 1991. She oversees compliance with our quality assurance practices, federal grant program, revenue cycle/operational expenditures, and electronic health record guidelines that are administrative in nature. She also supervises and leads the administrative support team, and is a Dickinson Alum.

Dr. Stine is a licensed psychologist who serves as our Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Services Coordinator. In this role, Dr. Taylor is responsible for coordinating and providing drug and alcohol assessments, voluntary substance abuse counseling, and substance abuse prevention programming to the campus community. She also has special interest and expertise in other areas, such as PTSD, sexual trauma recovery, depression, and anxiety. Her approach is grounded in empowerment feminist therapy, is strength-based, and collaborative.

Todd Drazien is a licensed clinical social worker who first joined us in the Spring 2016 semester as a part-time counselor. He later returned to the Wellness Center as a full time clinician; his areas of special expertise include relationship issues, reducing stress and anxiety, and improving self-esteem. He is also an alumnus of Dickinson and very much enjoys returning to the college to assist students with their emotional needs.

Courtney has served as the campus dietitian nutritionist since 2018. believes good nutrition is about energy, vibrancy, and joy! She has a master's degree in Applied Nutrition with a concentration in Fitness and is especially interested in fueling athletes, treating disordered eating, and guiding people to re-think their "shoulds" about food, health, and nutrition.

Dr. Lavertue is a Clinical Psychologist who first joined us in the Fall of 2019; Prior to that, Dr. Lavertue’s clinical experience has been working with underserved and marginalized populations. Her experiences include working with anxiety, depression, crisis, trauma, and schizophrenia, and her special interests include: working with International Students, autism spectrum, grief and loss, caregiver concerns, and the impact of medical illnesses on mental health. Believing therapy is a collaborative process, her approach is Integrative, while grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, often using Strengths-Based, Mindfulness, and Positive Psychology tools.

Megan Nesbitt, PsyD

Megan Nesbitt is a licensed psychologist who has been at the 麻豆区 Wellness Center since August 2016. Although Dr. Nesbitt sees a wide range of student mental health concerns, her areas of special expertise include integration of psychodynamic therapy and cognitive behavioral techniques, mind-body integration and relaxation techniques, relationship dynamics and concerns, and anxiety. Dr. Nesbitt employs a relational approach emphasizing warmth and collaboration. She has been teaching meditation, relaxation, guided visualization, and stress and anxiety management workshops of various kinds to college students for many years. She is trained in Group Psychotherapy and co-leads the Interpersonal Process Groups at the Wellness Center. Her doctoral training also included working in Community Mental Health and with women struggling with poverty, substance use, and other mental health diagnoses.
This is Dr. Nesbitt’s second career (or third, depending on how one measures); her previous career was in Campus Student Life, where she worked for Hillel and the Jewish community. Altogether, she has been working with college students for more than 20 years.

Dr. Shoemaker is a licensed psychologist who began working at Dickinson in January of 2019. She has worked in college mental health for the last 10 years and enjoys helping students explore new facets of their identities throughout their academic journeys. Dr. Shoemaker works primarily from an interpersonal and cognitive clinical lens to assist students in the following areas: sexual and gender identity development; building healthy relationships and setting boundaries with others; understanding and combating perfectionism; reducing anxiety and depression; and coping with trauma.

Ms. Hart is returning to 麻豆区 as an Administrative Assistant at the Wellness Center. With an Associate Degree in Nursing and a diverse career background, she brings a unique blend of healthcare knowledge and administrative expertise to her role. Previously, Ms. Hart served as an Assistant Coach for 麻豆区's Cross Country and Track teams, where she honed her leadership and organizational skills. Most recently, as a running coach and manager for an online marathon training company, she demonstrated her ability to motivate and guide individuals towards their fitness goals, as well as providing administrative support and customer service. Outside of work, Nicole enjoys running, hiking and gardening, which help her stay balanced and energized.

Therapy Bunnies
Dixie and Otto are a bonded pair of therapy rabbits at the Wellness Center. They were adopted on August 13, 2023. Dixie and Otto regularly participate in individual and group therapy sessions. They also participate in Bunny Breaks which are non-clinical groups that students can RSVP for on Engaged.

BunBun is a Lilac rabbit born on January 23, 2022. On January 22, 2024, just a day before his 2nd birthday, BunBun was adopted by the Wellness Center.
