Earth Sciences Lunch and Learn Seminar Series

In order to expose students to a wider variety of topics in the Geosciences, a seminar series is offered on Tuesdays at noon during the academic year.  We schedule a broad spectrum of speakers ranging from attorneys, consultants, faculty from Dickinson and elsewhere, current students and department alumni to give informal talks about their research, careers, internships, field camps, graduate school, and study abroad experiences.  These talks are a chance to come together as a department and explore the Geosciences outside of the classroom.  Listed below is the schedule for this semester's seminar talks:

  • Tues Sept 30 Seminar: Svalbard 2025 AACCRE expedition
  • Tues Oct 14 Seminar: "Examples of Chilean glaciovolcanism" presented by Professor Ben Edwards
  • Tues Oct 28 Seminar: "Deep Time Polar Climate" presented by Dr. Kirk Johnson, Sant Director of the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History
