Updating Deductions in Workday
Certain deductions (retirement, retirement healthcare savings, and annual giving contributions) may be updated directly in Workday by employees.
To add or update your voluntary deductions:
- Log in to the
- Select the Workday icon
- From the Benefits and Pay Hub, select Pay, then Voluntary Deductions.
- Here you can add, edit, or delete deductions
- Select the Add button to add your own deductions
- From the Deduction field, select a deduction from the prompt, then select OK.
- Enter any required information indicated by an asterisk.
- Select OK to save the deduction.

To update an existing retirement deduction:
- Log in to the
- Select the Workday icon
- Select your Profile photo
- Select View Profile
- Select Benefits
- Click on Change Retirement Savings
- Select the effective Date of Change
- Click on Manage elections
- Click on Confirm and Continue
- Adjust your contribution amount
- Review Changes
- Submit Changes
To stop an existing retirement deduction:
- Log in to the
- Select the Workday icon
- Select your Profile photo
- Select View Profile
- Select Benefits
- Click on Change Retirement Savings
- Select the effective Date of Change
- Click on Manage your elections
- Select Waive for the appropriate benefit plan
- Click on Confirm and Continue
- Review Changes
- Submit Changes
To add a New retirement deduction
- Log in to the
- Select the Workday icon
- Select your Profile photo
- Select View Profile
- Select Benefits
- Click on Change Retirement Savings
- Select the effective Date of Change
- Click on Enroll elections
- Select benefit option
- Click on Confirm and Continue
- Select Contribution Type
- Add Contribution amount or percentage
- Review Changes
- Submit Changes
